Koh Lipe: Thailand’s Best Island

Do you daydream at work and at home of escaping to the most beautiful island in the world? Would you love to go one of the most secluded islands in Thailand? Do want to take photos that are like paradise screensavers? It’s not only possible, its so easy and affordable with Air Asia. Jump on a speed boat from mainland Thailand and end up in a postcard. I deliver you paradise!

Where is Koh Lipe? How do I get to Koh Lipe?

Koh Lipe is in a small archipeligo located in far south-west Thailand. It’s a bit off the beaten long-tail track, and as such, isn’t as well known and travelled within the backpacking crowd.

The closest airport to Koh Lipe is Hat Yai International Airport. From there it is easiest to just pay $30US for a direct transfer from the airport to the boat terminal, which then includes the speedboat to the island itself. The journey from the airport to Koh Lipe is about 3.5 hours, including both the minivan to the port and boat to the island.

There are lots of accommodation options for travellers and in peak seasons its best to book in advance. Speaking to experienced diving instructors there, Koh Lipe is also one of the best places to go diving in the world. While I was here I saw Flying Fish!

I have been to Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Railay Beach and Krabi. Koh Lipe was by far the best.
